Sour Puss is a food project centered around queerness and collective wellbeing.

Utilizing cooking as a creative discipline, our goal is to collaborate with artists and spaces to prioritize community care and celebration.

To us, cooking feels like an authentic medium for communicating our purpose. Collaborating with artists and community spaces allows for multiple mediums of expression to coexist and intermingle, thus highlighting how joint expression forms a moment larger than its individual parts.

By transforming tables into connective spaces and ingredients into creative expressions, we invite guests and collaborators to fully engage with the present moment and each other.

Amy Niehaus (she/her) is a midwest cook based in Chicago, IL. With a background in breads, laminated goods, and pastries, Amy merges her desire for self expression with the grounding practice of feeding others. As a way of honoring past generations, Amy aims to blend ancient culinary practices with modern techniques and flavors that feel like home. Alongside Sour Puss, Amy is currently a baker at Hexe Coffee Company.
